The Good Fight Motion Pictures Friends and Patrons

Patron - One that supports, protects, or champions someone or something, such as a film or filmmaker; a sponsor or benefactor: a patron of the arts.

Look no further than the Latin origin of "patron" for a good general view of a patrons function: From the word for father (pater), a patron fathers the filmmaking endeavor, typically for one of three principle motives:

Prestige: They shares in the filmmakers success and enjoys the associated distinction;
Pleasure: A patron's pursuit is based in an appreciation of a particular craft;
Piety: A patron's driven by the “feel good” factor an impulse found in other forms of philanthropy.

The notion of a patron hasn't changed much over the years. The system of patronage is private and personal; patrons directly support The Good Fight Motion Pictures in pre-production, production, post-production, promotion and publicity. The lives of  a patron and The Good Fight Motion Pictures benefits from  their mutual success. One of history’s best known examples of individual patronage was Pope Julius II’s support of Michelangelo throughout his work on the Sistine Chapel.

There is a romance associated with being an independent filmmaker, but the truth of the matter is it's a lot of hard work. And the cost from idea to festival screen continues to escalate.

The Good Fight Motion Pictures needs your patronage to survive and grow.

Perhaps you want to buy a DVD, a poster, or other merchandise. These are all forms of patronage.

But take a look at the film festival awards that The Good Fight Motion Pictures has won and ask yourself, is what The Good Fight Motion Pictures doing worth supporting? If it is, click the PayPal link and send The Good Fight Motion Pictures what you can, a dollar or two, we can accept patronage as high as ten thousand dollars.

What will you get for your money? A free DVD, a movie poster, your name in the film credits, invitations to festivals and screenings, how about all of the above.

Or better yet our eternal gratitude, a warm feeling inside, and bragging rights that you’re a film patron. Or how about the knowledge that you’re helping to finance and support a truly independent film

Thanks!
